Innohub Takes Off with an Important Vision for the Future

The CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute celebrated an important milestone on 12 May with the official launch of its Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub (Innohub). Focusing on information technology, life sciences and artificial intelligence, this endeavour will promote greater collaboration between academics and enterprises in Hong Kong and the mainland, driving the continued development of the Greater Bay Area.

Headlining the celebrations was a forum on “Asset Management and Investment” hosted by the Shenzhen Research Institute and organised by CUHK Business School’s Shenzhen Alumni Association. Attended by over 200 participants, the forum opened with a warm welcome from Prof. Christopher Cheng, Director of the Shenzhen Research Institute. This was followed by congratulatory remarks from Prof. Edwin Chan, CUHK Associate Vice-President, and Mr. Sheng Ruisheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, who described their vision for driving innovation through research and knowledge exchange, equipping future generations in the face of mounting global challenges.

The key speakers at the forum were three distinguished business leaders, who shared their knowledge and insights on asset management and investing. Mr. Jin Haitao, Chief Partner of Qianhai FOF, spoke on “Practice and Experience of China PE Fund of Funds”, while Mr. Chen Feng, Chairman of Gemboom  Investment Management , spoke on “The Potential Development and Rise of China Stock Market”. Mr. Joseph Zeng, Partner of Greenwoods Asset Management and General Manager of Greenwoods Asset Management HK Ltd, concluded with his address on “Challenges and Opportunities of Stock Investment in Greater China”.

“My heartfelt appreciation goes to the Shenzhen Alumni Association for this insightful forum,” said Prof. Christopher Cheng, Director of the Shenzhen Research Institute. “It’s been a privilege to meet the alumni here, many of whom are also young entrepreneurs. As the Innohub develops, we will continue pressing towards our goal of promoting entrepreneurship in research and knowledge transfer, for the betterment of Greater China and the world.”
