MBA Alumni and Students Explore Osaka’s Business World

A delegation of 28 MBA alumni and students embarked on a 4-day study tour of Osaka from 12 to 15 April. Led by MBA Dr. Veronica Li, Associate Director of MBA Programs, the delegation learned about the Japanese business world and gained insights into the country’s blend of new and traditional approaches to work.

The group enjoyed a packed itinerary that included visits to local companies. The delegation spent a day at Panasonic Corporation and visited its manufacturing core at Kobe Seishin Industrial Park. They also enjoyed an exciting tour of Peach Aviation’s headquarters, where participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Shinichi Inoue, the Representative Director and Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Jose Oller, Executive Vice President (Operations). Together, they conducted the tour and discussed new trends in the aviation industry. Finally, the delegation visited Kyocera Group, an innovative IT company, and learned about Japan’s technological development.

The trip finished with a day of sightseeing, including a guided tour of the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery. The group also visited prominent landmarks, such as the Kinkaku-ji Temple and the Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto, and enjoyed the stunning sight of pink sakura blossoms. “Thanks to the company visits and sharing sessions, the trip was an eye-opening experience that helped us build a network with the corporate community and understand Japanese business environments and workplace culture,” said Dr. Veronica Li.
